The Line collection presents a sculptural ceramic series that visually explores the language of the line.

From the initial lines drawn in the creative process, through to the refinement of lines in the prototyping process, all these lines converge into a series of forms that visually represents the artistic grammar of Csongvay Blackwood.

The sculptures of Line belong to a series of more than twenty bespoke forms, and these forms visually connect to one another, both in their flowing and stepped geometric faces, and in their expanding and contracting solids and voids, while the handbuilt shapes contained within the faces of each sculpture are unique to every piece. And every sculpture has its own version number, because every sculpture is one-of-a-kind.

The Line collection represents Csongvay Blackwood’s commitment to developing and refining a series of sculptures which expand the possibilities of handbuilding in clay, while exploring the spatial possibilities of the line.
